Eastern Whip Snake

O found Tinsel in a state with what seemed to be a Brown Snake under A's Volvo. She called the snake catcher who for a $25 fee (reasonable) caught it and said it is an Eastern Whip Snake, poisonous, but way way less than a Brown. Like a bee sting.

By incredible coincidence, 450 kms away, I was bitten on the hand by wasp. Incredibly painful for about ten minutes. This happened about the same time that O discovered the snake.

Well, you know our story about the whip snake from our blog. As for wasps, L and I were moving our pool cover the other day (it's on a roll-out stand) and suddenly a swarm of wasps flew out the end and stung L on the face and hand. As you say, very painful.

Turned out there was a paper wasp nest in the end of the rolled-up pool cover. Poor L. Our standard cure for jumping ant and green ant stings came to the rescue though. A block of ice. Amazing how effective this is. Keep that in mind for next time.

Cheers, Patch.

Ouch! One sting was almost way too much. Ice. Got it.
